This new exhibition brings that lesser-known work into the light. It offers the rare pleasure of looking again at things so often overlooked. More than ever we are learning to reuse and cherish objects in ways we seem to have forgotten. With Rice’s lifelong habit of looking twice at the ignored, gathering and re-imagining in the only way he knows how; by making them into something you want to live with for a lifetime.
The exhibition is, of course, a celebration of recycling and reusing in a time when we absolutely must.
But it is also a reminder that meaningful forms can arise from the discarded, and that with the right eye, they become treasures.

"Interest in emblematic objects such as badges and coins is part of an obsession with signs and symbols that has been constant throughout his life.
At art college he was fascinated by flags and heraldry, during the sixties he drew inspiration from road and Tube signs. In the eighties and nineties he mined emblems from the landscape."

SUPPORTING CHARITIES IN GAZA
It is with a heavy heart that, several months after our last charity exhibition, Gaza is in an even more urgent and unimaginable state of crisis. Like so many, I have often felt powerless but we can turn to art as a way to act, to connect, and to contribute. The human suffering has only deepened, and the need for aid is now more critical than ever.To support the ongoing relief efforts:- 10% of all purchases made in the gallery or via the website over the next two months will be donated.
- We are also offering a special collection of 20 framed Breon O’Casey cards, with 100% of proceeds split equally between two vital charities. Please enquire for full list of those available.
- Even if you do not make a purchase, please consider donating directly. Thank you for your ongoing support.
